Covid restrictions are easing both across Canada and on the Island; meaning its only a matter of time before the return of traveling and the tourist industry. Perhaps you’re coming from away, or you’re simply an Islander looking to explore the city of Summerside. We’ve put together a list of some of the best activities for you and your children, to make sure your visit to the island is every bit as memorable as possible.
1.Chelton Beach Provincial Park
Located off of route 10 from Bedeque, Chelton Beach Provincial Park is nestled in Albany, P.E.I. Offering a lovely view of the coast-line, with clear and safe waters for swimmers; Chelton Beach should be on top of the list of destinations for your family to seek out in P.E.I.
Opened from mid-June to late-September, Chelton Beach features the natural red sands of the island, as well as stunning rock formations which show off the landscape.
There’s so much to do and see in Fox Hill Adventures scenic natural landmarks. Camp, kayak, starting a bonfire and enjoy some smores. Passes can currently be bought which will allow entrances for family members in their tentative 2021 opening dates.

5.Shining Waters Family Fun Park
Offering over 40 different wet and dry attractions, amusements, and rides, Shining Waters Family Fun Park is a great experience for anyone in your family. From their mirror maze, buccaneer bay, and the topsy-turvy-cabin. If you’re looking for snacks as well, Shining Waters also has a Beavertails Pastry and a Shipwreck Treat Shoppe. Additionally, Shining Waters offers four water slides near the Turtle Cove; with three junior waterslides for younger guests to enjoy the attractions.
